Fresh Fruit Salad
Description
This Fresh Fruit Salad features fresh berries — strawberries, blueberries, blackberries — plus grapes, all prepared by hulling, cutting, or halving as needed. The berries and grapes are combined in a large bowl for easy mixing.
The dressing is a simple warm glaze made by melting jelly in the microwave, then whisking in freshly squeezed orange juice and vanilla extract until smooth. This glaze coats the fruit lightly, adding an extra layer of sweet flavor and a subtle citrus scent.
The salad is ready to serve immediately after folding the glaze into the fruit, preserving the freshness and texture of the berries and grapes. It offers a balance of tartness and sweetness along with varying textures from the soft berries and slightly firmer grapes.
Ingredients
- 1 pound strawberry hulled and cut in half, fresh
- 6 ounces blueberries fresh, one clamshell container
- 6 ounces blackberries fresh, one clamshell container
- 2 cups grapes cut in half or left whole
- orange juiced, half
- 3 tablespoons jelly strawberry, currant, raspberry, sugar-free can be used too
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Clean fruit and gently pat extra water off the fruit by placing it on paper towels. Put in a large bowl.
- In a small bowl place jelly in the microwave and melt for 20 seconds or until liquid. Let cool and add orange juice and vanilla extract. Whisk together until smooth.
- Pour jelly sauce over fruit and gently fold covering all the fruit pieces. Enjoy!
