Fried Banana Recipe
Description
The Fried Banana recipe involves cooking banana slices in melted unsalted butter over medium heat. Adding honey, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of coarse kosher salt coats the bananas, allowing the honey to caramelize and create a flavorful glaze. The slow cooking process browns the bananas evenly and enhances their natural sweetness while balancing warmth from the spices.
This treatment results in bananas with a tender texture and lightly crisped surface, suitable for serving warm as a dessert topping, alongside breakfast items, or simply as a sweet treat. The notes suggest honey can be substituted with agave nectar or light or dark brown sugars depending on preference or availability.
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon butter unsalted
- 2 banana sliced into 1/2 thick pieces
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- dash ground nutmeg
- dash kosher salt coarse
Instructions
- Heat a large non stick skillet over medium heat. Melt the 1 teaspoon unsalted butter.
- When the butter is melted, add the sliced 2 bananas , 2 tablespoons honey , 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon , dash ground nutmeg and dash coarse kosher salt . Toss to coat and warm thoroughly.
