Fried Twinkies
Description
The recipe begins by heating vegetable oil for deep frying to 350°F. The batter is made by combining pancake mix, egg, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth. Each Twinkie is dipped into this batter to form a coating that crisps during frying.
Twinkies are then fried in batches, turning occasionally to brown evenly until the exterior is a deep golden color, which typically takes 3 to 4 minutes. After frying, they are drained on paper towels to remove excess oil. A light dusting of powdered sugar adds a sweet finishing touch, and an optional raspberry or chocolate sauce provides a complementary dip.
This preparation transforms the soft, sweet Twinkie into a warm, crispy treat that contrasts textures and temperatures for a rich dessert experience. It is best served immediately after frying to enjoy the crisp exterior before it softens.
