- Grease the baking sheet or line it with parchment paper so nothing sticks. For extra crispy frozen hash browns, place them on an oven proof baking rack on top of the prepared baking sheet. Spray frozen patties with olive oil or nonstick cooking spray to help with browning and make the potatoes crispy and crunchy. Place the potato patties in a single even layer on the baking tray and leave space between them to avoid soggy patties. If using shredded or diced version, spread them out in an even layer. Turn the cubes or patties over halfway through the cooking time to ensure maximum crispness and even browning. Season them - with salt or your favorite seasoning blend before serving. I love Italian seasoning. Spice them up - Feel free to add on some red pepper flakes, chili powder, Cajun seasoning, chili powder, or a little dash of hot sauce on top before baking them. Top them – Top hash browns with sauteed onions and pepper or shredded cheese for a delicious treat. I love serving them with easy cooked Frozen Meatballs too. Check during cooking. Cooking times will vary slightly depending on your specific oven. They should look golden brown and have crispy edges. Do leave them for a few more minutes if you want any extra crispiness. Preheat the oven - For the best results make sure your oven is preheated to the right temperature before you start cooking these.
