Description
The Fruit Dip consists of a base of softened cream cheese combined with powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice for a balanced sweetness with slight tartness. Sour cream is folded in to add richness and a gentle tang, and whipped heavy cream is gently incorporated at the end to create a light, airy texture. The result is a creamy, fluffy dip excellent alongside fresh fruits like strawberries or apple slices, and also great for dipping graham crackers.
The preparation involves whipping the mixtures separately before combining to maintain a smooth, cohesive consistency. It is ready to serve right away or can be chilled for up to two days for improved flavor melding and a firmer texture.

Ingredients
- 16 oz cream cheese softened to room temperature
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice or lime juice
- ¼ cup sour cream
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Fruit or other preferred dippers
- graham crackers or other preferred dippers
Instructions
- Combine softened cream cheese, approximately half of the powdered sugar (½ cup/75g), vanilla extract, and lemon juice in a large bowl and and stir until smooth (an electric mixer or stand mixer is best for this).
- Add sour cream and stir again until completely combined.
- In a separate bowl, combine heavy cream and remaining powdered sugar (½ cup/75g) and use an electric mixer to beat until you’ve achieved stiff peaks (the mixture should be thick and fluffy).
- Add the whipped cream to the cream cheese mixture and stir gently by hand until smooth and completely combined.
- Serve immediately or chill, covered, in the refrigerator for up to 2 days/until ready to serve.
