Fruit Fluff Salad with Cranberry, Cherry and Pineapple
Description
Fruit Fluff Salad with Cranberry, Cherry and Pineapple is a refreshing and airy mixture highlighting fresh cranberries and cherries alongside crushed pineapple. The fruit is tossed with sugar and allowed to rest briefly, which helps balance tartness and enhances overall flavor. After draining excess moisture, chopped pecans and mini marshmallows are added for texture and sweetness before folding in a generous amount of whipped cream. This results in a fluffy, creamy salad with varied textures and bright fruit flavors.
The inclusion of finely minced cranberries is important to mitigate bitterness and ensure a pleasant, cohesive flavor. The whipped cream binds the ingredients for a light, dessert-like salad that doesn't overwhelm with heaviness. The pecans provide a nutty crunch against the soft marshmallows and whipped cream.
This salad is best served shortly after assembling to maintain the textures but can be refrigerated up to six hours. It works well as a colorful accompaniment at gatherings or a sweet dish on its own during warmer months.
To achieve the desired texture, chopping the cranberries finely is key, as larger pieces introduce bitterness. Gently folding preserves the fluffiness without crushing the fruit or marshmallows.
