Fruit Pizza Recipe
Description
This fruit pizza begins with a sugar cookie dough made of butter, white and brown sugars, eggs, vanilla, baking powder, salt, and flour. The dough is chilled before being rolled out into a large circle and baked until edges gently brown, forming a sturdy cookie crust that serves as the pizza base.
The frosting layer consists of softened cream cheese blended with powdered sugar until smooth, providing a sweet and creamy layer spread over the cooled cookie base. Fresh fruits such as sliced strawberries, peaches, blueberries, kiwi, and raspberries are arranged on top in patterns or randomly for visual appeal and fresh flavor contrast.
The dessert combines crisp edges from the cookie crust with creamy frosting and sweet-tart fruit, making it suitable for gatherings or a colorful sweet treat. The recipe suggests refrigerating the dough before baking to help manage its spread and texture.
An option to save time is substituting store-bought refrigerated sugar cookie dough in place of the homemade dough. Chilling the dough for one hour before baking is not included in active prep time but aids in better handling and final cookie texture.
