Fudgy Brownies Recipe

These Fudgy Brownies deliver a dense, moist texture through the use of melted butter and vegetable oil combined with cocoa powder and semi-sweet baking chocolate. The batter is carefully mixed to achieve a rich chocolate base that bakes into brownies with a soft center and slightly set edges, offering traditional fudgy consistency rather than cakey.

Description

The recipe calls for sifting together all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, and salt to create the dry base. Melted hot butter is whisked with oil and sugar, then combined with eggs and vanilla extract for moisture and structure. Folding in the cocoa mixture gently avoids overmixing, preserving a tender crumb. Chopped semi-sweet baking chocolate scattered on top melts during baking, adding pockets of melty chocolate.

Baked at 350°F in a prepared 9×13 pan for around 28-32 minutes, the brownies are done when the middle no longer jiggles though a toothpick test may show moist crumbs, reflecting their fudgy nature. The result is a rich, chocolate-dense dessert with a sticky, soft interior and slightly firmer edges. These brownies can be enjoyed as a classic treat suitable for any chocolate dessert craving.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour all-purpose
  • 1 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter unsalted (melted and hot)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 1/4 cup sugar
  • 4 egg large
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 4 oz baking chocolate chopped, semi-sweet

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish and line with parchment paper. Set aside.
  3. Sift the flour, cocoa powder and salt and place in a mixing bowl. Set aside.
  4. Pour the hot, melted butter oil and sugar in another medium bowl and whisk really well.
  5. Add the eggs and vanilla and whisk an additional minute. Add the cocoa mixture and slowly whisk together until just combined.
  6. Pour into the prepared baking dish and top with chopped chocolate.
  7. Bake for 28-32 minutes or until no the middle no longer jiggle (these will be fudgy so a toothpick check in the middle will still be dirty - just give it a shake to make sure it's not jiggling and it should be done).
