Fudgy Valentine Brownies

Fudgy Valentine Brownies are a rich chocolate treat made with vegetable oil, cocoa powder, and melted chocolate chips to create a moist, dense texture. Baked in a parchment-lined pan, the brownies are cooled before cutting into heart shapes, optionally decorated with sprinkles. These brownies offer a tender crumb and a nearly gooey center when slightly underbaked.

Description

This brownie recipe combines vegetable oil, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla for a smooth base before blending in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and chocolate chips. Baking at 350°F in an 8x8 pan lined with parchment paper ensures even cooking and easy removal. The slightly underbaked brownies yield a soft, fudgy texture with a few moist crumbs on a toothpick test.

Once fully cooled, the brownies can be shaped using a heart stencil and decorated with sprinkles to fit a Valentine’s theme. The chocolate chips add pockets of melted richness throughout the brownies. Storing leftovers in an airtight container helps maintain their freshness.

These brownies work well for gifting or serving at gatherings where a rich chocolate dessert is desired.

Ingredients

Servings
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 egg large
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • Sprinkles optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line an 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the oil and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Beat the eggs and vanilla until well combined.
  3. Add the cocoa powder, flour and salt and stir until thoroughly combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and use a spatula to smooth the top. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with only a few crumbs. It’s better to under bake the brownies than to overbake them.
  5. Allow to cool completely for at least 30 minutes on a wire rack.
  6. Use a heart shaped stencil to cut the brownies into heart shapes. Add sprinkles if desired. Store the rest of the pieces for snacking.

Notes

  • Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
