Soft and buttery homemade garlic breadsticks that are ready in about an hour!

Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups warm water about 105 F
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour¹
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter melted, divided
- 1/2-1 teaspoon garlic salt

Instructions
- In the bowl of a stand mixer (or in a large bowl), stir together the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5-10 minutes or until foamy.
- Mix in 2 cups of flour and salt.
- Continue adding flour 1/4 cup at a time until the dough forms a soft dough. You may need a little more or less flour. The dough should feel slightly sticky but shouldn't come off on your fingers when you pinch it.
- Knead dough for three minutes.
- Cover, and let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
- Divide dough into two equal pieces.
- Cut each piece into into 8 pieces for a total of 16 pieces of dough.
- Roll each piece of dough into a piece about 1/2 inch by 8 inches (check out the pictures above).
- Cover with greased plastic wrap and let rise 30 minutes. Toward the end of the resting time, preheat oven to 375 F.
- Brush dough with half of the melted butter.
- Bake 12-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Brush breadsticks with remaining melted butter, and sprinkle with garlic salt.
Notes
- To properly measure the flour, stir, lightly spoon into the measuring cup, and then level.
