Garlic Broccoli Stir Fry

Garlic Broccoli Stir Fry features tender broccoli florets and thinly sliced carrots briefly cooked in boiling water with salt, then quickly stir-fried with aromatic chopped garlic. The vegetables retain some crunch and have a bright, garlic-infused taste, making a simple, light side dish.

Description

This stir fry starts by cutting broccoli crowns into small pieces and slicing carrots thinly. The vegetables are briefly cooked in boiling salted water with a little oil to soften slightly while maintaining texture. After draining, chopped garlic is stir-fried in oil until fragrant to build flavor.

The partially cooked broccoli and carrot slices are added back into the wok with the garlic and salt, then quickly stirred together to combine flavors and heat through. The result is a lightly cooked vegetable dish with a balance of freshness and tenderness, accented by the aroma and taste of garlic.

This dish is best served hot as a side accompanying various mains. Its simplicity allows the garlic and natural vegetable flavors to shine without heavy sauces or seasonings.
