Garlic Butter Pasta

Garlic Butter Pasta combines al dente spaghetti with crispy Parma ham, sautéed garlic, butter, and fresh baby plum tomatoes. The garlic is cooked gently to release aroma without bitterness, while Parma ham adds savory notes and texture. Tossing the pasta with Parmesan cheese melts it into the rich sauce, creating a balanced and satisfying dish. It's a flavorful pasta prepare-at-home recipe that brings together a creamy, buttery sauce enhanced by salty ham and bright tomato bursts.

Description

Garlic Butter Pasta features spaghetti intertwined with the savory flavors of Parma ham and a butter and garlic sauce. The pasta is cooked to firm yet tender al dente, providing structure against the rich, melted butter and finely minced garlic cooked just until fragrant. Fresh baby plum tomatoes are added with the ham to introduce a subtle sweetness and soften slightly, contrasting with the meaty ham slices. The dish finishes with a generous amount of grated Parmesan cheese stirred through the warm pasta, adding depth and creaminess.

Cooking the garlic gently prevents it from becoming bitter, while cutting Parma ham into small pieces allows for quick, even cooking that crisps slightly in the olive oil before butter is introduced. This pasta can be served immediately in warm bowls and is ideal for those who appreciate a mix of textures from tender noodles, soft tomatoes, and chewy ham, balanced by buttery depth and salty cheese.

Reserving pasta cooking water is useful to adjust sauce consistency if needed, and variations like red chili flakes or fresh herbs can customize flavor. Leftovers keep well refrigerated up to three days in an airtight container.

  7. Serve pasta in bowls and add any extras that you prefer.

Notes

  • Cook pasta al dente following package instructions to ensure a firm texture that holds up to the sauce.
  • Reserve some pasta cooking water before draining; use it to adjust sauce consistency if needed.
  • Slice Parma ham small for quicker cooking and easy forkfuls with pasta.
  • Cook minced garlic just until fragrant to avoid bitterness.
  • Spaghetti is preferred, but other pasta shapes can work well.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
