Garlic Pork Bites
Description
Garlic Pork Bites begin with seasoning bite-sized pork pieces with onion powder, salt, and black pepper, then searing them in olive oil to a safe internal temperature. After removing the pork, a pan sauce is prepared using butter and garlic, thickened with flour, then combined with chicken broth, heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and lemon juice. This sauce simmers to thicken, blending creamy, savory, and tangy elements. The pork pieces are returned to the skillet and coated well before serving.
The dish delivers tender pork bites with a creamy, garlicky sauce accented by the sharpness of Parmesan and freshness from lemon juice. Cooking in one pan concentrates flavors and facilitates coating the meat evenly.
This recipe suits a flavorful dinner main or a rich appetizer plate and pairs well with simple sides to balance the sauce.
Ingredients
Pork
- 4 boneless pork chops cut into 1-inch pieces, approximately 2 pounds
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
Sauce
- ¼ cup butter unsalted
- 1 teaspoon garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup Parmesan Cheese grated
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season pork evenly with onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- In a large, 12-inch skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add pork and sear for 3-5 minutes on all sides until cooked through (about 13-15 minutes total). Pork is cooked through when it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.
- Remove the pork from the skillet and set it on a plate. Tent it to keep the pork warm.
- In the same skillet, melt butter. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Whisk in flour until slightly thickened.
- Add in chicken broth, heavy cream, parmesan cheese, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
- Let the sauce simmer for 5-8 minutes, or until thickened.
- Add pork bites back to the pan and toss them in the sauce to coat. Serve immediately.
