Ginger Cookies

Ginger Cookies blend warm spices like ground ginger, cinnamon, and cloves into a creamy butter and sugar dough, sweetened further with molasses. Rolled in sugar before baking, they develop a lightly crisp exterior with a soft, aromatic center. These cookies balance intense ginger spice with a rich molasses depth, making them a richly spiced baked treat for snacking.

Description

The dough is formed by creaming softened unsalted butter and white sugar until fluffy, then incorporating egg, water, and molasses for moisture and flavor. Dry ingredients including flour, ground ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt are sifted and gradually mixed into the wet base, ensuring even spice distribution. Cookie dough balls are rolled in granulated sugar before placing on the baking sheet to create a subtle crunch and sparkling surface.

Baked at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 8 to 10 minutes, the cookies emerge with slightly crisp edges and a chewy interior. The blend of ginger, cinnamon, and cloves produces a warm aromatic profile characteristic of ginger cookies, while the molasses adds richness and moistness beneath the spicy notes.
