Gingerbread Cupcakes
Description
The Gingerbread Cupcakes recipe starts with creaming unsalted butter and sugars, then incorporating wet ingredients such as milk, egg, Greek yogurt, and vanilla extract to form a smooth batter. Dry ingredients include plain flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and ground ginger. Combining these ingredients results in a spiced cupcake batter.
Baked at 200°C for 25 minutes, the cupcakes develop a moist texture with warming spice notes that evoke gingerbread. The use of Greek yogurt adds moisture and a slight tang. Toppings are optional and can range from chocolate buttercream to cream cheese or ginger icing.
These cupcakes can be decorated festively with items like mini gingerbread men and are suitable as a seasonal dessert or snack.
For consistency, an oven thermometer ensures accurate baking temperature. Avoid overmixing to maintain rise and texture. Adding chocolate chips can complement the spicy ginger base.
