Gingerbread Kiss Cookies

Gingerbread Kiss Cookies combine classic molasses-spiced cookie dough rolled in white sanding sugar and baked until just set. A Hershey’s Kiss is pressed into each cookie while warm, adding a chocolate accent to the chewy, warmly spiced base. These cookies offer a balance of sweet spice and chocolate with a slightly crisp exterior.

Description

This recipe starts by blending softened butter with light brown sugar, molasses, egg, and vanilla for a rich, sweet base. Flour is mixed with ground ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, baking soda, and salt to create the warm, spicy flavor profile characteristic of gingerbread.

After forming the dough, small balls are rolled in white sanding sugar, which adds texture and a touch of extra sweetness. Baking at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes yields cookies that are set but soft in the center. Pressing a Hershey's Kiss into each cookie shortly after removing them from the oven allows the chocolate to soften without melting completely, creating a distinctive topping and complementing the spice.

These cookies cool to a chewy, slightly crisp texture with the combined flavors ideal for holiday treats or anytime gingerbread is desired.
