Glazed Lemon Cookies
Description
The Glazed Lemon Cookies combine a creamy butter and powdered sugar base with lemon juice and zest to infuse a bright citrus flavor throughout the dough. Baking at a moderate temperature ensures a soft center with lightly browned edges. Once cooled, the cookies receive a drizzle of a glaze made with powdered sugar, lemon juice, heavy cream, and lemon zest which dries to a thin, sweet coating. The glaze provides a subtle tartness and extra moisture to the texture.
The result is a cookie that manages to be both tender and slightly crisp, making it a good option alongside tea or coffee. The lemon elements are fresh and bright, not overwhelming, making these cookies approachable while highlighting lemon’s natural acidity.
Storing them covered keeps them fresh for several days, and the glaze holds up well without becoming sticky or sticky. This makes them suitable for preparing ahead and serving in gatherings or simple homemade dessert options.
