Gluten free Apple Crisp
Description
The Gluten free Apple Crisp centers on fresh sliced apples, such as Honeycrisp, arranged in a baking dish and topped with a crumbly mixture including gluten-free oats, coconut sugar, almond flour, and cinnamon. Cold butter is cut into the dry ingredients by hand to form coarse crumbs, which create a flaky, crunchy topping after baking.
Baked at 375°F for 35 to 45 minutes, the topping turns golden and crisp, complementing the soft, cooked apples beneath. This cooking time ensures the fruit is tender without turning to mush while the topping remains pleasantly textured.
This apple crisp benefits from serving warm, often accompanied by vanilla ice cream or whipped cream to add creaminess and temperature contrast. It is designed for those who prefer or require gluten-free baked goods without sacrificing the classic homey flavors of apple crisp.
Serve warm topped with whipped cream for traditional flavor balance.Use gluten-free oats and almond flour to keep the dish gluten-free.
