 Gluten-Free Teriyaki Sauce With Honey

This Gluten-Free Teriyaki Sauce with Honey blends soy sauce, garlic granules, dried ginger, honey, apple cider vinegar, arrowroot powder, and water to create a thickened, slightly sweet sauce. The sauce is cooked briefly to meld flavors and thicken to a glaze-like consistency, making it suitable for marinating or finishing dishes.

Description

The Gluten-Free Teriyaki Sauce With Honey combines traditional teriyaki flavors with the natural thickening power of arrowroot powder instead of wheat-based thickeners, accommodating gluten-free diets. Soy sauce provides the salty base, balanced by honey’s sweetness, garlic and ginger powders add aromatic warmth, while apple cider vinegar brings a mild acidity. Water dilutes the mixture for consistency.

The cooking method involves bringing all ingredients except the arrowroot powder to a boil, then whisking in the arrowroot powder gradually while maintaining medium heat. This technique prevents the starch from clumping, ensuring a smooth texture. The sauce thickens upon standing, developing a glossy coating ideal for glazing or dipping.

Once thickened, the sauce can be used as a marinade for meats or vegetables or drizzled over cooked dishes to add a savory-sweet dimension. It can be kept refrigerated and used in moderate quantities due to its concentrated flavors.
