  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons garlic finely chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup gruyere cheese shredded
  • ¼ cup fontina cheese shredded
  • salt to taste
  • white pepper to taste
  • cup Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese shredded
  • basil leaves optional, for garnish
