Description
This parfait starts by combining chopped Oreo cookies with Andes mint chocolates, providing both texture and mint-chocolate flavor. Instant chocolate pudding is prepared with cold milk and allowed to set briefly. Separately, whipped topping is flavored with green food coloring and mint extract to add a fresh mint taste and visual appeal.
Layers of the chocolate pudding, mint whipped topping, and cookie-chocolate mixture are alternated in serving cups, building a dessert with varying textures and flavors in each spoonful. The top is garnished with additional Oreo crumbs and chopped chocolate before chilling for about 30 minutes to let the layers set and flavors meld.
As a chilled dessert, the parfait works well for warm weather or as a light finish to a meal. Its combination of classic mint and chocolate is reminiscent of the grasshopper cocktail flavors but in a kid-friendly, easy-to-assemble form. Ingredients
- 15 Oreo cookies Chopped (about 1 1/2 cups)
- chocolate chopped, ANDES brand chocolates
- 7.8 oz chocolate pudding mix 2 - 3.9 packages, JELL-O Instant
- 4 cups milk cold
- green food coloring
- mint extract flavoring
- 2 cups whipped topping thawed COOL WHIPPED, or whipped cream
- oreo cookie crumbs additional, for garnish
- chocolate additional, for garnish
Instructions
- Combine chopped cookies and Andes. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together pudding mixed and milk. Let stand 5 min.
- While pudding is setting, mix food coloring and mint into whipped cream until blended.
- Layer chocolate pudding, whipped cream, cookie/chocolate mix into cups and repeat layers.
- Top with whole Oreo and Andes and refrigerate 30 minutes. ENJOY!
