These easy Greek meatballs are oven-baked, making them a healthier option yet very juicy.

Ingredients

  • ½ pound lean ground beef
  • ½ pound ground lamb or pork
  • cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ¼ cup finely diced red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh mint
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • garnish as desired see notes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a pan with foil and place a rack on top of the foil.
  2. Combine milk and panko bread crumbs. Let sit 5 minutes.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and mix until combined. Divide mixture into 20 meatballs.
  4. Roll and place on prepared pan. Bake 20-22 minutes or until browned and meatballs are cooked through.
  5. Serve with garnishes as desired.

Notes

  • These meatballs can be made with all beef if preferred.
  • To make sure the meatballs are properly cooked, the outside should be browned and the temperature should be 165°F in the middle. 
  • We love to add crumbled feta, red onion, and chopped fresh mint for garnish.
