Greek Yogurt Brownies
Description
Greek Yogurt Brownies begin by melting unsalted butter and unsweetened baking chocolate together until smooth, which creates a rich base. Sugar is whisked in to dissolve, followed by eggs and vanilla extract to add structure and flavor. The dry ingredients — flour and salt — are stirred into the wet ingredients with Greek yogurt, which keeps the brownies moist and tender without adding heaviness.
Folding in chocolate chips before transferring the batter to a prepared pan enriches the chocolate flavor with melty pockets. Baking at 350°F ensures the brownies set with a soft yet firm texture, avoiding overcooking to maintain a fudgy center. They are best cooled completely before cutting to hold their shape well.
These brownies offer a balance of richness and moisture, with Greek yogurt contributing a subtle tang and additional tenderness. They can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for several days or frozen to preserve freshness.
Ingredients
- ½ cup butter unsalted
- ¼ cup unsweetened baking chocolate
- ¼ cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup cane sugar
- 2 egg room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ⅔ cup all-purpose flour
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup Greek yogurt Stonyfield brand
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray an 8 x 8-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray and line it with parchment paper.
- Place the butter and chocolate in a large microwave safe bowl and microwave in 30 second bursts until melted. Whisk in the sugar until dissolved, then whisk in the eggs and vanilla.
- Add the flour, salt and Greek yogurt and stir until there are no more streaks of flour. Fold in the chocolate.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, being careful not to overcook them. Allow to cool completely before cutting and serving.
Notes
- Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to four days to maintain freshness.
- Brownies freeze well for up to three months; wrap tightly to prevent freezer burn.
- Allow brownies to cool completely before cutting into squares to prevent crumbling and ensure clean edges.
