Green Chili Chicken Enchiladas

Report
Green Chili Chicken Enchiladas feature shredded chicken combined with green chilies, taco seasoning, and sautéed onions, all wrapped in flour tortillas. Topped with a creamy blend of sour cream and salsa verde and melted cheeses, these enchiladas bake to a comforting, mildly spicy dish with layers of tangy and cheesy flavors. The result is a rich and satisfying meal ideal for family dinners or casual gatherings.

Description

The recipe starts by browning onions to a soft texture before mixing in shredded chicken, taco seasoning, and diced green chilies with half the salsa verde to create the filling. This mixture delivers a blend of savory and mildly spicy flavors with a hint of sweetness from the onions. The filling is spooned evenly into flour tortillas, rolled, and placed seam-side down in a baking pan. A sauce made from sour cream, remaining salsa verde, and milk is poured over the tortillas, then topped with shredded Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses. Baking at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes melts the cheese and heats the enchiladas thoroughly. The dish has a creamy, tangy sauce with a combination of tender chicken and soft tortillas.
