Grilled Peaches

Grilled Peaches are fresh peach halves brushed with melted coconut oil and grilled until tender yet firm, then sprinkled with a mixture of light brown sugar and cinnamon. The warmth of the peaches combines with the sweetness and spice topping to create a balanced flavor, complemented by cool vanilla ice cream and crunchy granola when served. The grilling process caramelizes the sugar inside the peaches slightly for a depth of flavor that works well as a simple dessert or summer treat.

Description

Grilled Peaches are prepared by halving peaches, brushing them generously with melted coconut oil, and placing them cut side down on a medium-high grill. After about five minutes, the peaches are flipped and grilled for a few more minutes until tender but still holding shape. The brown sugar and cinnamon mix is then sprinkled over the warm peaches, allowing the sugar to lightly melt, adding sweetness and warmth from cinnamon.

The texture is soft and slightly caramelized with a gentle char from the grill, enhancing the natural peach flavor while keeping some firmness. Serving them alongside cold vanilla ice cream and crunchy granola adds contrast in temperature and texture, creating a satisfying combination.

These peaches can be served fresh off the grill as a fruit-forward dessert or snack. Fresh mint leaves add a bright herbal note as garnish. Leftover grilled peaches keep in the refrigerator for several days, allowing you to enjoy them chilled or reheated gently.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 4 peaches cut in half
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil melted
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar packed
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • vanilla ice cream for serving
  • 2 tablespoons granola for serving
  • mint for serving, fresh

Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Brush the peaches with the melted coconut oil liberally, allowing any excess coconut oil to fall over the grill.
  2. Place the peaches cut side down first on the grill or grill pan, working in batches if needed. Grill for 5 minutes and then flip them over and grill until tender, but still firm, about 3 more minutes.
  3. Whisk together the light brown sugar and cinnamon, and sprinkle on top of the peaches as soon as you remove them from the grill.
  4. Serve the peaches with vanilla ice cream and granola, and garnish with fresh mint leaves, if desired.

Notes

  • Store leftover grilled peaches in the fridge for 3 to 4 days for best freshness.
  • The nutrition information provided does not account for the ice cream or granola toppings served with the peaches.
