Grilled Peaches

Grilled Peaches are halved ripe yet firm peaches brushed with vegetable oil and cook-grilled until grill marks form and the fruit softens slightly. A cinnamon and honey glaze brushed on top enhances their natural sweetness and adds warm spice. This preparation creates a juicy, caramelized dessert or side that highlights the peaches’ texture and flavor through direct heat grilling.

Description

This recipe involves halving and pitting firm, ripe peaches and brushing them with vegetable oil to prevent sticking. The peaches are then grilled over medium heat, either on an outdoor grill or stovetop grill pan. Grilling for 3 to 5 minutes produces distinct dark grill marks and a softened texture as the fruit caramelizes slightly from the heat. Rotating the peaches halfway through grilling creates cross-hatched marks and ensures even cooking.

The final step is brushing the warm peaches with a mixture of honey and cinnamon, which adds a sweet and aromatic finish. The honey glaze complements the caramelized exterior and the natural juiciness of the peach halves. The result is a fruit-based dish with a balance of sweet, warm, and fresh flavors ideal either as a simple dessert or a complement to savory meals.

It is advised to use freestone peaches for ease of pitting, as cling peaches hold onto their pits more tightly making preparation more difficult. The recipe works equally well outdoors or with a kitchen grill pan.

  • 4 peaches ripe but firm
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons honey
  • cinnamon pinch

  2. Cut the peaches in half and remove the pits.
  3. Brush each peach half with vegetable oil.
  4. Grill the peaches for 3-5 minutes or until dark grill marks form. Rotate the peaches halfway through to get cross-hatched grill marks.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the honey and cinnamon. Brush the honey mixture over the warm peaches, then serve.
