Grilled Steak with Avocado Sauce

Ingredients

Avocado Sauce:

  • 1 avocado ripe
  • cup cilantro fresh
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • salt to taste, sea salt and freshly cracked
  • black pepper to taste, sea salt and freshly cracked
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tbsp red wine vinegar
  • lime juice juice from 1 large lime

Steaks:

  • steak rib eye or top sirloin or other
  • salt sea salt and freshly cracked, to taste
  • black pepper sea salt and freshly cracked, to taste
  • chili powder to taste
  • onion powder to taste
  • paprika to taste
  • Coriander to taste
  • cumin to taste
  • oregano to taste
  • garlic powder to taste

Instructions

  1. Make the avocado sauce by combining all of the ingredients in a processor and blend until smooth. Taste and add more sea salt, freshly cracked pepper, or lime juice if needed. Set aside to allow flavors time to mingle.
  2. Season the steaks by springling each side of the steaks with the seasonings, to taste.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium heat; or if you are using a grill pan, heat it to medium-high heat.
  4. Cook steaks for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the desired degree of doneness. Remove the steaks from the grill and set them aside to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  5. Once the steak has rested, slice and serve with the avocado sauce. Enjoy.
