Ground Beef Tacos Recipe

Ground Beef Tacos combine seasoned browned beef mixed with shredded Mexican cheese, wrapped in yellow corn tortillas that are deep-fried until golden and crisp. Optional cooked, cubed potatoes can be added to the meat mixture for extra texture. The warm, crunchy taco shells filled with fresh lettuce and tomato create a satisfying contrast of flavors and textures common in traditional Mexican tacos.

Description

This recipe for Ground Beef Tacos starts with ground beef cooked until browned and seasoned with salt and pepper. The beef is then combined with shredded Mexican cheese and optionally, cooked diced potatoes, which add heartiness to the filling. Yellow corn tortillas are used as the taco shell, which are sealed around a portion of the meat mixture and fried in vegetable oil until golden and crisp. The process involves frying the filled and folded tortillas by rocking them in hot oil to ensure even cooking on all sides. Once cooked, the tacos are drained on paper towels to remove excess oil. Finally, they are garnished with fresh lettuce and sliced tomato before serving. This cooking method results in tacos with crispy shells and a melty, cheesy, seasoned ground beef filling, complemented by fresh vegetable toppings.
