Instructions
- Start off by peeling the ripe guava fruit, careful not to remove too much of the outer pulp. Slice the fruit in half and scoop out the pulpy seeds inside and discard them. Now you have your little "helmets" ready.
- Wash your guava helmets thoroughly and place them in a deep pot with enough water to cover them. Bring the pot to a boil and then simmer until they soften.
- Prepare the syrup by mixing 200 ml/ about 1 cup of the water the guavas have boiled in and simmer in a separate pot with the sugar and a pinch of salt until it thickens slightly into a syrup.
- Add the guavas to the pan and simmer with the syrup until you get a good consistency.
- Once done, set aside and allow to cool slightly before serving.
- Enjoy!
