Description
This Halloween Brownies recipe starts with mixing a boxed double chocolate brownie mix with egg, water, and neutral oil per package instructions. Half of the batter is poured into a parchment-lined loaf pan, topped with a white chocolate bar, and covered with the remaining batter to encase the white chocolate while baking at 325°F for about an hour until cooked through.
Once cooled, the top is spread with a smooth frosting made by whipping softened cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Chopped Halloween-themed Oreos are sprinkled on the frosting for added texture and festivity. Ingredients
- 18 oz brownie mix 1 box) I used Ghirardelli Double Chocolate
- egg
- water
- neutral cooking oil generic cooking oil
- 4 oz white chocolate 1 bar) I used Ghirardelli brand
- 4 oz cream cheese softened
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- plash vanilla
- 5 Oreos chopped, Halloween edition
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line loaf pan with parchment paper and spray with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, stir brownie mix together with eggs, water and oil according to package directions. Pour half into prepared loaf pan. Unwrap white chocolate bar and place in the center.
- Spread remaining brownie batter overtop. Bake 60-75 minutes or until cooked thoroughly. Cool 20-30 minutes before removing completely.
- For the frosting, whip cream cheese, butter, sugar and vanilla together until smooth. Spread over top of loaf. Top with crushed oreos. Slice into pieces and serve.
