Halloween Dark Chocolate Fudge

Halloween Dark Chocolate Fudge blends condensed milk, dark chocolate, brown sugar, and butter into a rich, dense confection topped with festive yellow and orange candies. The mixture melts and cooks together on the stove before setting in a pan to chill, producing a smooth texture that holds firm when cut. The treat fits seasonal themes and showcases a balance of sweet and bittersweet chocolate notes.

Description

This fudge recipe starts by melting sweetened condensed milk, dark chocolate, brown sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and salt together in a saucepan over medium heat. Stirring continuously prevents burning and ensures an even melt until the mixture is fully smooth. The hot fudge is then poured into a parchment-lined square pan and left to cool slightly before adding colored candies pressed into the surface.

After topping, the fudge must chill for at least three hours in the refrigerator or can be frozen for one hour to speed setting. The final result is firm but creamy with a rich chocolate flavor, enhanced by the buttery and vanilla notes. The bright candies add visual appeal and texture contrast.

This dense, homemade fudge is ideal for Halloween treats or anytime a chocolate-rich, no-bake sweet is desired. Cutting with a warm serrated knife after full chilling helps achieve clean pieces. Using parchment paper aids in easy removal from the pan.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 14 ounces condensed milk 300ml
  • 16 ounces dark chocolate or chocolate chips, 450g, broken into pieces
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup M&M candies yellow and orange

Instructions

  1. Line an 8x8 inch square pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan, combine condensed milk, dark chocolate pieces, brown sugar, vanilla, and salt. Cook over medium heat, mixing frequently until the chocolate is fully melted.
  3. Pour the mixture into the pan. Leave to cool for about 10 minutes.
  4. Top with yellow and orange candies by pressing slightly into the fudge with your fingers.
  5. Put in the fridge to harden for at least 3 hours, or place inside the freezer for 1 hour.
  6. Remove fudge from pan, slice, and serve.

Notes

  • Stir the chocolate mixture constantly over medium heat to avoid burning.
  • Line your pan with parchment paper to easily remove fudge for slicing.
  • Use a warm serrated knife for clean cuts once fudge has fully hardened.
  • You can substitute a 9x9-inch pan; fudge height will be slightly less but texture will remain good.
