Halloween Mummy Pretzels

Halloween Mummy Pretzels are pretzel crisps dipped in melted white vanilla-flavored chocolate and decorated with chocolate drizzle and candy eyeballs to resemble mummies. The combination creates a sweet and salty snack with a crisp texture and playful festive appearance, suitable for Halloween parties or themed treats.

Description

To prepare, pretzel crisps are coated in melted white chocolate wafers, which are gently thinned with vegetable shortening or oil if needed for easy dipping. After dipping, the pretzels are placed on parchment-lined trays to set the chocolate base.

Additional melted white chocolate is piped over the pretzels in thin lines to mimic mummy bandages. Candy eyeball sprinkles are placed on top to complete the visual of a whimsical mummy face. The contrast between the salty pretzels and sweet white chocolate delivers balanced flavor and texture.

This treat fits seasonal celebrations and can be made ahead and stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks, maintaining freshness and chocolate coating integrity.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 7.2 oz. pretzel crisps
  • 20 oz. melting wafers white vanilla flavored
  • 2 tablespoons candy eyeball sprinkles .88 oz

Instructions

  1. Line two large sheet pans with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. Melt the white chocolate wafers. Do this in the microwave in a heat-safe bowl in 30-second increments until the white chocolate is completely melted. (I like to heat mine in 30-second bursts until they’re melted. Stir after each round so that the chocolate does not burn. If the white chocolate is still a little thick after it’s all melted, add a tablespoon of vegetable shortening or oil to help thin it out. This will make it easier for dipping.)
  3. Dip the pretzels into the melted white chocolate. Use forks to dunk and flip the pretzels until coated.
  4. Transfer the pretzels to the prepared sheet pan. Let them set for 30 minutes.
  5. Melt extra white chocolate wafers and transfer to a piping bag. (You could also do this in a plastic bag.)
  6. Snip the bag's tip, and drizzle the white chocolate over the pretzels to create a mummy pattern.
  7. Once the mummy texture has been added, place the candy eyeballs on the pretzels. Have fun with them—they don’t need to be perfect!
  8. Let the chocolate set for 30-45 minutes before transferring to an airtight container and enjoying!

Notes

  • Store cooled mummy pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks to keep them fresh.
  • If white chocolate is thick after melting, add a tablespoon of vegetable shortening or oil to thin it for easier dipping.
