Ham and Cheese Frittata
Description
The Ham and Cheese Frittata is made by first cooking diced potatoes with olive oil and seasoning until tender. Adding diced ham, fresh or frozen spinach, and green onions introduces savory and fresh vegetable flavors. The eggs beaten with half and half, dry mustard powder, seasoned salt, and black pepper form a rich custard that binds the ingredients together. Sprinkling shredded cheddar cheese on top before baking adds a creamy texture and sharp flavor contrast. Baking at 400°F finishes the dish with a set, slightly golden top which can be briefly broiled to enhance the cheese finish. After a brief cooling period, the frittata is cut and served warm.
This dish offers a hearty breakfast or brunch option that can be paired with simple sides like toast or salad. Its combination of eggs and ham makes it filling and protein-rich. The inclusion of spinach adds a mild earthiness and balanced nutrition.
Leftover frittata can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days, making it suitable for advance preparation or meal planning.
