  • 1 9- inch pie crust homemade or store-bought
  • 1 cup ham diced
  • 1 cup cheese cheddar, Swiss, or Gruyère, shredded
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 4 egg large
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder optional
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder optional
  • 1 tablespoon chives for garnish, chopped, or parsley

Instructions

Step No.1: Preheat Oven

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the pie crust in a pie dish and crimp the edges.

Step No.2: Blind Bake the Crust

  1. Prick the bottom of the crust with a fork. Line it with parchment paper and fill with pie weights or dried beans. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove weights and bake for 5 more minutes.

Step No.3: Prepare the Filling

  1. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Step No.4: Assemble the Quiche

  1. Spread the diced ham and shredded cheese evenly over the crust. Pour the egg mixture over the top.

Step No.5: Bake Until Set

  1. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the center is set and a knife inserted comes out clean.

Step No.6: Cool & Serve

  1. Let the quiche cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with chives or parsley.

Notes

  • Prevent a soggy crust by blind baking before adding the filling.
  • For a richer flavor, use half-and-half instead of milk.
  • Test doneness by gently shaking the quiche—if the center jiggles slightly but is not runny, it's ready.
  • Cool before slicing to allow the filling to set properly.
