Ham and Cheese Waffles, a delicious breakfast or brunch recipe that is ready from scratch in well under 20 minutes. It's a quick and easy savoury dish for all ages, it's hearty and filling, and healthy too!

Ingredients
- 200 g plain flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 50 g salted butter (melted)
- 1 egg
- 200 ml milk
- ½ cup ham, cut into cubes
- ½ cup grated cheddar cheese
- 2 spring onion (chopped)

Instructions
- In a small mixing bowl, crack the egg, and use a fork to beat it well.
- Pour in the milk and melted butter, and mix well.
- In a separate large mixing bowl, sift the flour, add the baking powder, and mix well.
- Add the cheese, ham, spring onions and the milk mixture, and use a spatula to combine everything into a thick batter.
- Brush the waffle maker with melted butter, and add half of the batter to it, spreading it well.
- Cook until the waffles are golden and cooked through.
- Repeat with the remaining batter.
Notes
- Waffle makers come in different sizes and shapes, so you might have the adjust the amount of batter that goes in to make sure it doesn't spill over when the waffles are cooking - you can end up with quite a mess!
- Do not be tempted to add more liquid to the batter, it might look a bit thick, but it works perfectly for waffles, if it's too wet and thin, you won't get the lovely crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside texture.
