Report
Hamburger casserole recipe is the best combination of hearty ground beef, pasta and a creamy sauce. You can serve this with little prep work on busy nights.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ cup white or yellow onion chopped
- 2 cans tomato sauce (8 ounces each)
- 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 8 ounces macaroni pasta
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Spray a 13x9 baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
- Cook noodles according to directions on the package to al dente.
- In a large skillet, brown ground beef and onion together (breaking up of the beef as it cooks) until all the pink is gone. Drain off any excess grease if needed.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, sugar, garlic powder, Italian seasonings, salt and pepper.
- Heat to boiling, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.
- Stir in the cooked pasta and 1/2 cup of the shredded cheese.
- Pour the mixture into the baking dish and top with the remaining shredded cheese.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes (uncovered) until the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven. Let the casserole sit for at least 10 minutes and then it’s ready to serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Refrigerate any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5-6 days.
