Hawaiian Sliders (Ham, Cheese and Pineapple)
Description
Hawaiian Sliders (Ham, Cheese and Pineapple) assemble layers of deli-sliced ham, canned pineapple slices, and Swiss cheese between slider buns, baked in a casserole dish. The topping is a butter-based spread infused with poppy seeds, whole grain mustard, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper, which adds a flavorful crust as the sliders bake. The buns soak up some of the juices, providing softness beneath a slightly browned top.
The sliders meld sweet pineapple with salty ham and mild Swiss, offering a combination of textures from soft buns to tender meat and fruit. Baking at 375°F for 15 minutes melts the cheese thoroughly and browns the top.
This preparation works well for gatherings or easy lunches; serving them warm ensures the cheese remains melted and the buns pull apart easily. The recipe is scalable and suitable for doubling by using a larger baking sheet.
The topping can include a splash of Worcestershire sauce for a savory hint, and adding caramelized onions contributes extra depth. For substitutions, Dijon mustard replaces whole grain mustard, garlic powder can substitute fresh garlic, and provolone is an alternative cheese option.
Ingredients
- 12 slider buns
- 8 lices swiss cheese
- 9 ounces ham sliced, deli
- 6 lices pineapple sliced, canned
TOPPING:

- Layer the bottom halves of the slider buns in the dish.
- Layer the ham, pineapple and cheese over the buns.

- Devour.
Notes
- Run a knife through the edges of the slider buns before baking to make pulling them apart easier.
- To make larger batches, use a rimmed baking sheet and double the ingredients accordingly.
- Add 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce to the topping for added savory flavor.
- Including caramelized onions adds extra richness and flavor variation to the sliders.
- Dijon mustard can be used instead of whole grain mustard if preferred.
- Garlic powder is an acceptable alternative to fresh garlic in the topping.
- Provolone cheese may replace Swiss cheese according to taste or availability.
