Herb Crusted Salmon

Report
Herb Crusted Salmon features salmon fillets topped with a mixture of panko breadcrumbs, lemon zest, olive oil, and fresh parsley, baked to create a flavorful crust. The topping adds crunchy texture and brightness to the tender salmon. This straightforward preparation focuses on a balance of fresh herbaceous notes and mild citrus with the natural richness of salmon.

Description

This recipe involves coating salmon fillets skin-side down with a herb crust made from panko breadcrumbs, olive oil, lemon zest, and finely chopped parsley. The salmon is baked at 200°C (400°F) for 18-20 minutes, which results in a golden crust and moist cooked fish. The lemon zest imparts citrus aroma while the parsley adds fresh, green flavor. The olive oil helps the topping crisp evenly.

The salmon remains tender and flaky beneath the crunchy herb crust, creating a pleasant contrast. Since the fillets are similar thickness, they cook evenly through. This method is simple and lets the quality of the salmon stand out enhanced by the textured topping.

This dish works well as a main course accompanied by vegetables or grains. The topping can be modified by adding spinach or arugula herbs for added greens. Butter may be used for a richer crust.

The recipe scales for multiple servings. Brushing melted butter on the fillets prior to the topping enhances indulgence. Using fillets of similar size ensures even cooking.
