High Protein Berry Fluff
Description
The High Protein Berry Fluff recipe blends frozen berries with vegan protein powder, hemp milk, and xanthan gum to achieve a thick, fluffy mixture. Processing for several minutes incorporates air, transforming the ingredients into a mousse-like texture. Optionally, additional frozen blueberries are chopped and swirled in to add fresh fruit bursts and extra texture. Honey can be included for sweetness depending on the protein powder's flavor profile.
The fluff is best eaten immediately for a light and airy experience, as refrigeration causes it to lose its texture and become chunky. Freezing is not recommended because the fluff freezes solid and thaws poorly. The protein powder choice influences the final texture and flavor, so experimentation may be needed to match personal goals and tastes.
This dish serves as a convenient high-protein snack or light dessert option, combining the benefits of protein supplementation with fresh fruit flavors. It's quick to prepare and suitable for a vegan diet depending on the protein powder used.
Ingredients
- 1 cups berries frozen
- ¼ cup hemp milk
- ¼ cup vegan protein powder
- ¾ teaspoon xanthan gum
- 1 tbs honey optional
- ¼ cup blueberries optional, frozen
Instructions
- Measure out the ingredients.
- Combine all ingredients except the optional blueberries into a food processor.
- Process for 3-5 minutes, making sure that everything is combined. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides The longer you process the more it fluffs up.
- If using frozen blueberries, chop them up and swirl through the fluff.
- Top with any other favorites and eat immediately.
Notes
- The choice of protein powder affects the fluff's texture and taste; use one that matches your dietary goals.
- Add honey for sweetness if your protein powder is not sweetened, noting this increases carbohydrates.
- Plant-based protein powders that are not fermented may require adding extra hemp milk for better texture.
- Consume the fluff immediately as refrigeration causes loss of fluffiness and freezing leads to poor thawing.
