High Protein Frozen Yogurt

This high protein frozen yogurt blends coconut yogurt with vanilla vegan protein powder, cinnamon, and salt, then incorporates frozen mango and raspberries for a creamy, thick texture and fruity taste. It creates a cold, satisfying treat that serves as a protein-rich alternative to traditional frozen yogurt, ideal for post-workout or nourishing snacks.

Description

The High Protein Frozen Yogurt recipe combines coconut yogurt with vegan protein powder and a pinch of cinnamon and salt to create a flavorful base. Frozen mango and raspberries are blended in, contributing natural sweetness and fruit texture. The mixture is processed until smooth and thick, resulting in a frozen dessert that is creamy and dense rather than icy.

This frozen yogurt offers a balance of tang from the yogurt, spice from cinnamon, and bright fruit flavors. Serving it immediately yields a thick, scoopable texture, while placing it in the freezer for about 15 minutes can firm it up further. This preparation requires only frozen fruit to achieve the right consistency and flavor.

Using different protein powders may affect texture; pea protein absorbs more liquid, while whey or rice protein powders can also be used. Greek yogurt can substitute for coconut yogurt, but may need a small amount of almond milk to blend smoothly without becoming a smoothie. Leftovers can be frozen for a few weeks but may develop crystals; thaw slightly and reblend to restore creaminess before serving.

Notes

  • Use only frozen fruit to maintain the thick, creamy texture of the frozen yogurt.
  • Adjust protein powder type carefully, as different powders absorb liquids differently and affect consistency.
  • For Greek yogurt substitution, add no more than a tablespoon of almond milk to assist blending without thinning.
  • Store extra portions in the freezer up to a few weeks; reblend after thawing to restore smoothness.
