Hojicha Latte

The Hojicha Latte features roasted hojicha green tea powder blended with hot water and topped with frothed milk. The drink balances hojicha's smoky roasted flavor with the creaminess of steamed milk and optional sweetener, creating a warm, soothing beverage suited for tea lovers seeking a mild, comforting latte experience.

Description

This Hojicha Latte recipe utilizes finely sifted roasted hojicha green tea powder mixed with hot water to release its distinctive smoky aroma. The tea is whisked or frothed to create a light foam before being combined with steamed and frothed milk of choice, which can be dairy or non-dairy alternatives such as almond, oat, soy, or coconut milk. Sweeteners like honey, maple syrup, or simple syrup can be added to taste, making the latte customizable in sweetness. The resulting drink offers a smooth, lightly roasted tea flavor complemented by creamy milk texture.

Preparing the latte involves using an electric whisk or frother to aerate the tea and milk, enhancing mouthfeel and presentation. The balance of tea strength can be adjusted by increasing or reducing the hojicha powder amount according to personal taste, suitable for both newcomers and regular drinkers of hojicha.

This latte is best served immediately to enjoy the contrast of warm tea and foamed milk. It makes a comforting beverage for morning or afternoon enjoyment.

Adjust the hojicha powder amount to your preference: use more powder for a stronger flavor or less if you are starting to explore hojicha teas.
