Holiday Peppermint Bark
Description
This Holiday Peppermint Bark starts with white chocolate chips gently melted in a microwave at half power to prevent seizing. Adding a tablespoon of vegetable oil smooths the texture and aids in melting. The melted chocolate is spread evenly over a wax paper-lined baking sheet.
The top is decorated with crushed peppermint candy canes which impart a crisp, minty flavor and festive crunch, along with colorful M&M's and holiday-themed sprinkles to add visual appeal and sweetness contrast. The bark sets at room temperature until firm enough to break into shards easily.
This bark is an easy seasonal confection that requires no baking and can be made quickly. It offers a creamy, sweet base brightened by peppermint and a variety of candy textures and colors, making it suitable for gift-giving or party treats.
Melting chocolate slowly in intervals and stirring helps prevent overheating and graininess. The addition of oil is an optional technique to ensure smooth melting without burning.
