Holiday Wreath Treats

Holiday Wreath Treats are festive rings made from Rice Krispies cereal coated in melted marshmallow and butter, tinted green, then shaped into wreaths and decorated with sprinkles and candy for a holiday look. These treats offer a crunchy, chewy texture with a sweet, buttery flavor that can be molded by hand or in molds for seasonal celebrations.

Description

The recipe begins by melting butter in a pan and stirring in marshmallows until fully melted. Green food coloring is added to tint the mixture a festive shade. Rice Krispies cereal is then thoroughly mixed in to evenly coat the grains with the marshmallow mixture, forming a sticky, malleable mass. The cereal mixture is shaped into rings resembling wreaths either by pressing into donut pans or by hand-rolling on waxed paper with the center removed.

For decoration, sprinkles and candy are applied to represent holly berries and add colorful accents. The mixture sets as it cools, resulting in a sweet, textured treat with a chewy interior and a slight crunch from the cereal.

These treats are suitable for gifting, parties, or holiday-themed snacks and are similar in texture to classic Rice Krispies treats but with a seasonal presentation.

  • 40 marshmallows
  • green food coloring

  1. Melt the butter in a large sauce pan.
  2. Add the marshmallows and stir until melted.
  3. Add green food coloring until desired color is obtained.
  4. Mix with the cereal until completely coated.
  5. If using a donut pan or donut maker spray it with cooking spray, then press the mixture into the molds. Carefully use a knife to remove the wreath to a cookie rack.
