Homemade Caesar Salad Dressing

This Homemade Caesar Salad Dressing combines mayonnaise, sour cream, and Parmesan cheese to create a creamy base enriched with anchovies, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce for authentic savory depth. A touch of acidity from red wine vinegar and a dash of Tabasco rounds out the bold flavors. The dressing has a thick, smooth texture perfect for coating salad greens.

Description

Homemade Caesar Salad Dressing blends mayonnaise and sour cream for a rich and creamy texture. The anchovies and Worcestershire sauce provide umami and depth, while garlic and freshly cracked black pepper add pungency and spice. Red wine vinegar adds the necessary tanginess that balances richness. Grated Parmesan contributes a cheesy note and further umami complexity. A few dashes of Tabasco sauce bring subtle heat to the flavor profile.

The dressing is mixed simply by shaking or whisking all ingredients until smooth, and can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to two weeks, allowing flavors to meld. This versatile dressing is thick enough to cling to crisp Romaine lettuce or other greens, enhancing Caesar salads with traditional savory flavors.

If avoiding anchovies, substituting with extra Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice maintains the tangy, savory character without the fishy note, making it adaptable to different tastes.
