Ingredients

Servings

Pizza Dough

  • ½ cup water lukewarm
  • ½ tsp active dry yeast
  • ½ tsp honey
  • 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt

Pumpkin Spread

  • 1 ounce can pumpkin NOT pie filling, puree
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 Pinch cloves ground

Streusel Topping

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¾ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 4-5 tbsp butter unsalted, cold, cut into small pieces

Drizzle

  • 1 tbsp cream cheese softened/whipped
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Start by making pizza dough. If you’re using store bought, skip to step #7. I prefer to use a pizza stone, but it isn’t required. If you choose to use a standard baking sheet, it doesn’t have to be placed inside your oven in advance. If using a pizza stone, place in the oven prior to preheating.
  2. Preheat the oven to 500°F if using a pizza stone (450°F if using a baking sheet).
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine water, yeast and honey. Let it sit and rest for about 10 minutes until it foams.
  4. Stir in the flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until the dough comes together. I usually use my hands for this step. If your dough is still sticky, add very small amount of flour (no more than 1 tsp) at a time until it is no longer sticky. Be careful because adding too much flour can make it tough.
  5. On a large piece of parchment paper, knead the dough a couple of times and then allow it to rest 10-15 more minutes. This will keep it from springing back when you try to roll it out.
  6. Roll the dough out. I prefer a thin crust in this recipe (and for my pizza), but if you prefer a thicker crust, you can leave it a little thicker at this point.
  7. Using the parchment paper, transfer the dough to the pizza stone (or baking sheet).
  8. Bake in the oven for 4 minutes (you’ll need more time for a thicker crust). You’re not looking to have a fully baked crust at this point. Remove from the oven.
  9. Turn your oven down to 400°F.
  10. In a large mixing bowl, combine your pumpkin spread ingredients.
  11. Spread your pumpkin mixture over the crust. I recommend leaving a small border of naked crust around the edges to make it easier to grab when eating.
  12. Next, make the streusel topping. Combine the flour, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon.
  13. Add the small pieces of butter and combine. Cut the butter into the flour mixture until you reach a sand like consistency.
  14. Sprinkle the streusel topping over the pumpkin spread of your pizza.
  15. Return the pizza to the oven and bake for 15 minutes.
  16. While the pizza is cooking, make your drizzle.
  17. Mix together your cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk. Add just enough milk to make it thick but runny. You want to be able to drizzle it.
  18. Remove the pizza from the oven and drizzle the cream cheese topping while it's still hot.
  19. Allow it to cool about 5-10 minutes before slicing to be sure it stays together. Serve up and enjoy!
