Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons basil dried
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons parsley dried
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon oregano dried
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sage dried
  • 3/4 teaspoon rosemary dried
  • 3/4 teaspoon thyme dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Add everything to a small bowl and mix well.
  2. Store in an airtight container for up to 2-3 years in a cool dry place.

  • Dried herbs and spices should always be stored in a cool dry place to ensure that the potency and freshness will last the longest.

  • Garlic: Optional but it's definitely a big part of Italian cooking and we think it adds a good depth of flavor. 
  • Oregano: Can use all oregano or swap out some for some dried marjoram which is very similar but has some sweeter notes.

  • You can of course make a fresh herb blend, but it will not store the same as using dried herbs.  The conversion for using fresh to dried is 1 tablespoon of fresh herbs for every teaspoon of dried herbs, since dried is much more potent than fresh.
