Homemade Kettle Corn Recipe

This Homemade Kettle Corn recipe pops popcorn kernels with coconut oil and sugar, coating the popped corn with sweet and salty flavors. Optional cinnamon or brown sugar variations offer a warm spice or caramel note.

Description

The recipe starts by preparing a jelly roll pan or parchment paper for cooling the popcorn. Coconut oil, sugar, and popcorn kernels are heated in a stovetop popper, stirred constantly over medium heat until the kernels pop fully. When done, the popcorn is poured onto the prepared pan and immediately salted while still hot.

The result is sweet popcorn with a light caramelized sugar coating balanced by saltiness from the finishing sprinkle. The texture is crisp and slightly crunchy rather than soft, distinct from plain popcorn. Cinnamon may be added for spiced flavor, while swapping brown sugar for white sugar produces a caramel version with richer taste.

This kettle corn snack makes an easy treat at home with minimal ingredients and equipment. It is served cooled and can be customized with optional flavors to suit preference.
