Homemade Nutter Butter Cookies

Report
Homemade Nutter Butter Cookies feature peanut butter-flavored cookies with a distinctive peanut shape, rolled in sugar before baking to create a slightly crisp coating. The cookies remain soft inside and are complemented by a creamy peanut butter filling made with powdered sugar, butter, and milk for a sandwich cookie effect.

Description

The cookies are made by combining flour, baking soda, and salt, then creaming softened butter, brown sugar, and peanut butter. Egg and vanilla are incorporated before blending in the dry ingredients. The dough is formed into small logs, rolled in granulated sugar, and stamped with a crosshatch pattern using a fork to achieve a peanut shape. They bake until lightly browned on edges but remain soft centrally.

The peanut butter filling pairs softened butter, peanut butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla, mixing to a creamy consistency used to sandwich cooled cookies. This combination offers the classic Nutter Butter flavor at home without prepackaged ingredients.

These cookies provide a chewy yet structured bite with a sweet peanut butter taste, well balanced between the cookie and filling.
