Homemade Peanut Butter Ice Cream with Peanut Butter Cups
Description
The homemade peanut butter ice cream features a classic ice cream base made with heavy cream, half and half, sugar, and vanilla extract. The sugar dissolves completely into the cold dairy mixture before being churned in an ice cream maker. During the churning process, spoonfuls of creamy peanut butter are introduced gradually, mixing into the partially frozen base to distribute peanut flavor evenly.
Near the end of freezing, chopped peanut butter cups are added for additional texture and chocolate-peanut contrast. The final ice cream has a smooth, creamy texture enriched by the peanut butter’s richness, punctuated by chewy peanut butter cup pieces.
This ice cream is best served fresh from the ice cream maker or slightly softened after freezing. It can be enjoyed on its own or paired with warm desserts or brownies for a complementary nutty profile.
