Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice
Description
Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice combines ground cinnamon, allspice, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves into a versatile seasoning blend. The spices are stirred together evenly and stored in a sealed jar, preserving their aromatic qualities for many months. This spice blend is intended to mimic the classic pumpkin pie seasoning, ready to add depth and warmth to pumpkin pies, baked goods, or other recipes calling for traditional fall flavors. Its finely ground form allows quick incorporation into batters or fillings.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons ground allspice
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cloves ground
Instructions
- Dump all the spices in a small bowl and stir to combine.
- Pour the pumpkin pie spice mix to a small glass canning jar, a repurposed spice jar with a lid, or any other small, resealable container. (If pouring the spice mix into a small container, first place it on a creased sheet of parchment paper and then carefully slide it in, or use a funnel.) The spice mixture will keep airtight at room temperature for many months.
